Program Overview
As the numbers of aging women increase worldwide, dental professionals face significant challenges and opportunities. Recognizing gender specific concerns impacting the overall well-being of patients has become increasingly important. Women’s medical concerns such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and osteoporosis will be addressed along with their surprisingly strong influence on the oral cavity. The impact from medications and the oral manifestations they create will greatly determine how dental products should be utilized and tailored to meet specific needs. This presentation will detail the current research linking systemic disease with gingival and periodontal inflammation and the latest evidence-based technology impacting oral health and whole body wellness.

  • Top Five Women’s Health Concerns Related to Aging
  • Risk Factors to Systemic Disease & Oral Concerns from Medication
  • Results from Nurses’ Health Study & Women’s Health Initiative
  • Dental Management of Patients with Systemic Co-Morbidities
  • Importance of Bone Health while Treating the Osteopenic/Osteoporotic patient
